Summer Work

My first pictures were inspired by my visit to the Courtauld institute of art. There I drew paintings by Cezanne and Degas.

These paintings inspired me to take pictures of body forms with hight tone and contrast, similiar to Cezanne's painting which is very tonal, shaded and rotund.

When I took my pictures I wanted to show the body contoted or twisted as I felt this would link in with Cezanne's depiction of the statue. I also wanted to show dynamics in the pictures like Degas who painted ballerina's dancing and warming up.
